Henry Enns International  Scholarship on
Disability Studies

The Henry Enns International Scholarship on Disability Studies received welcome support from the Province of Manitoba in May 2003. In a letter to Dr. Olga Krassioukova-Enns, CCDS International Director and Dr. Don Fuchs, Interim Chair of the CCDS Board, the Honourable Drew Caldwell, Minister Responsible for Persons with Disabilities said “In view of my department’s past collaboration with the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies and the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Manitoba, I am pleased that you have brought this initiative to my attention…The establishment of an international scholarship fund will no doubt be a worthy tool through which his [Dr. Henry Enns] vision and legacy can further advance.”

In a July 7, 2003 letter from Minister Caldwell’s office, Pam Goulet, Executive Director of Adult and Children’s Programs communicated the following, “In recognition of the dedication of Dr. Henry Enns to promoting the social, educational and economic development and social integration of persons with disabilities, I am pleased to enclose a cheque in the amount of $1000 to the Henry Enns International Scholarship on Disability Studies, from the Services for Persons with Disabilities Division of the Department of Family Services and Housing. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively with the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies in promoting inclusion and supporting persons living with a disability to live and participate in the community.”

CCDS thanks the Province through the Office of Service for Persons with Disabilities for its generous support of the Scholarship Fund.
