Join CCDS

This is an invitation to become a member of the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies.

The Canadian Centre on Disability Studies (CCDS) is a consumer-directed, university-affiliated centre dedicated to research, education and the dissemination of knowledge on disability issues. Through its activities, CCDS promotes the full and equal participation of people with a variety of disabilities in all aspects of society, on a local, national and international level. CCDS’ greatest strengths lie in building equal partnerships and acting as a bridge between the disability community and the government, corporate and academic sectors.  Because CCDS responds to the needs of people with various disabilities at the grassroots level, its activities are both broad-based and focused.  As a result, CCDS’ work not only provides the impetus for social change, but also leads to further collaboration and activities among some of its key partners.

Your support is invaluable. Join our Board of Directors or a Committee or volunteer. We will keep you posted on activities and provide copies of our quarterly Bulletin.

Resource Development

Become a Financial Partner

Financial partners of the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies help ensure the viability of CCDS and benefit from recognition throughout our many networks in Canada and worldwide. Your contribution can be large or small, one time or over time. Contribute to the following programs.

  1. Endowment Fund
This fund was established in 1995 with a $1 million gift from the government of Canada to help provide a permanent source of funding for the Centre. This fund, when it reaches its target of $10 million in ten years, will ensure the long-term viability of the Centre.

  2. Organizational Support
There are always more research and education projects than there are financial resources. Your support for one of these projects can make the difference whether research, or an education program goes ahead.

  3. Henry Enns International Scholarship Fund on Disability Studies
This fund was established in 2002 in memory of our Executive Director, Dr. Henry Enns. The scholarship promotes the opportunity for international students with disabilities to study in Manitoba, the centre of the disability movement in this country.
